| Getaways to Coddle New Mothers (or Just Inspire Some)
The unscientific survey found Las Vegas was the most popular destination. (So, what happens in Vegas sometimes comes home with you and wants to borrow the car years later.) Dr. David Adamson, president of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, said vacations can help couples who are trying to conceive, if the trips help them relieve stress, communicate better and reconnect. "There's no evidence that by going away it somehow intrinsically increases pregnancy rates," Dr. Adamson said. But, he added, "If it increases the frequency of intercourse, then it's probably helpful." As the due date approaches, some couples find the need to get away together while they still can. Since June, three W Hotels in New York City have been offering a "baby me" package for expectant parents.
Overton and USC hit court — as opponents
Overton committed to USC in September 2006 but didn't sign in the early November period, then pledged his allegiance to Washington in February 2007, signing later that spring. "I was ready to sign [with USC early], but he [Floyd] didn't want me to sign right away," Overton said. "That was the issue. UW wanted me to sign right away, so I wasn't sure if their [the Trojans'] offer was real, like they didn't think I was going to make it. I think they were going to set me up to a prep school, and I didn't really want that." Said Floyd: "We would have taken Venoy if he had honored his commitment." Overton said he ultimately decided to just stay home. "I just wanted to be a hometown kid," he said. Intriguingly, Overton could return to the starting lineup today as coach Lorenzo Romar attempts to jump-start the Huskies after losses to Washington State and UCLA.
Breakfast: The return of porridge
There's nothing we're protecting about the recipe. It's proper food, with no tricks." They agree that nothing beats porridge made slowly on the hob, but argue that you don't always have the choice. "Grasshopper is convenience food for when you can't face another pain au chocolat," says Abigail. "You can put one in your Prada handbag, your car boot or the baby's buggy." The differently flavoured pots have cult status at Cowes week, while in the City they're guzzled at desks for breakfast. The sisters gamely sent one off to Prince Charles, receiving back a "charming" letter from Clarence House, though one suspects the Prince is one for pinhead with salt, spurtle and bagpipes. .
